Isokinetic Medical Group has always been active in knowledge exchange and in educating the Sports Medicine community. Our earliest experiences, guided by our values and by common sense, stemmed from our external contacts who, in the early 1990s, visited our first clinic in Bologna. Over time, as the Group grew, these initially informal exchanges evolved into something more structured and far-reaching.
The foundation, however, has always remained the same: our desire to contribute to the advancement of Sports Medicine, firstly in our own country, then across Europe, and now worldwide. For many years, hundreds of young doctors and physiotherapists from dozens of different universities have come to our clinics each year for internship placements.
Building on this activity and inspired by Dr. Della Villa’s similar experiences in the United States, in particular the Sports Medicine programme created byDr. Freddie Fu, the Isokinetic Campus Fellowship Programme was established. Here, talented students and bright minds in Medicine, Physiotherapy, Sports Science, and Engineering undertake extended training periods to participate in scientific studies and to prepare their thesis. These experiences can lead to exciting career opportunities for the most capable and motivated fellows, while enriching the discussion on the future of Sports Medicine within our dynamic Campus environment.
The wide dissemination of knowledge that Isokinetic promotes only benefits the Group to a small extent, through the recruitment of the most outstanding fellows, but serves mainly to enrich the wider medical community beyond Isokinetic’s boundaries. This represents a significant commitment to society, providing inspiration, encouragement and expertise to young people eager to develop their talent in the field of Sports Medicine.
