Hydrokinesiotherapy, rehabilitation sessions in the pool
In the pool, patients benefit from the effects of water and can begin motor activities much sooner than would be possible on solid ground. This keeps up their aerobic capacity and promotes a swift return to optimal physical fitness, even during the early stages of rehabilitation following an injury or surgery.
Water offers numerous benefits, primarily eliminating the impact of body weight on injured joints. The water’s resistance is gradual, ensuring even muscle tension during movement, which helps in the recovery of muscle tone and flexibility.
Rehabilitation sessions in the pool are scheduled from the outset of rehabilitation. Water physiotherapy, or hydrokinesiotherapy, is among the most effective and recommended treatments for functional recovery, even for issues that are still in the acute phase.
Swimming skills are not required to participate in the pool sessions. Furthermore, a rehabilitation specialist will always be available to assist the patient.
Exercises can be performed using body weight or with the aid of flotation devices such as kickboards, arm bands, foam tubes, collars, etc.
Hydrokinesiotherapy pools
The pools are specifically designed so that patients can carry out their sessions safely.
The pool features areas of varying depths that can be accessed even for those with partial immobility. Patients can immerse themselves up to their chest while still being able to touch the bottom, regardless of their height.
The hydrotherapy pool is heated, with temperatures ranging between 25 and 32 degrees Celsius to ensure maximum muscle relaxation and comfort.
