The trapezius muscle is an important muscle of the neck. The causes that determine its contraction are various but the most frequent are traumatic, associated to the whiplash, or postural.
This is a common problem and generally nothing to worry about. It is usually secondary to muscular contractions in the cervical and shoulder girdle area.
