Hydrokinesiotherapy, recovery sessions in the pool
In the pool, the Patient benefits from the effects of water and can start motor activities very early that would otherwise be impossible outside this environment. This makes it possible to maintain aerobic capacity and to recover an optimal state of fitness early, even in the rehabilitation phases that immediately follow an injury or surgery.
Water offers numerous benefits, first and foremost preventing the weight of the body from bearing down on injured joints. The resistance of the water is gradual: during the movements the tension of the muscles is maintained evenly, promoting the recovery of muscle tone and flexibility.
From the very beginning of the treatment course, rehabilitation sessions in the pool are provided. Water physiotherapy, or hydrokinesiotherapy, is one of the most effective and recommended functional recovery treatments even for problems still in the acute phase.
It is not necessary to know how to swim in order to access the pool sessions. In addition, a Re-educator will always be present next to the patient.
Taking advantage of the continuous massage and gravity relief offered by water, pool rehabilitation aims, through simple targeted exercises that are always supervised, to rapidly recover functional activities, muscle tone and flexibility while alleviating pain and swelling.
Exercises can be done free-body or with the help of buoyancy aids such as boards, armbands, foam tubes, collars, etc.
Hydrokinesiotherapy pools
It is a specially designed environment for all patients to conduct sessions safely.
In fact, the pool has zones with different depths that can be accessed even when partially immobile. One can dive to chest height while always touching the bottom, regardless of one’s height.
The hydrokinesiotherapy pool is heated: the temperature ranges between 25 and 32 degrees to achieve the highest level of muscle relaxation and comfort.
