This PRP is then injected into the area affected by tissue damage. <\/p>\n<p>PRP injections offer several benefits.<br>&#8211; PRP can enhance the natural healing process, as growth factors contained in platelets are released and may activate local stem cells in the damaged tissue.<br>&#8211; PRP can reduce pain and modulate inflammatory and degenerative processes in mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the joints. In some studies, the effect has been shown to be more powerful and longer-lasting than corticosteroids, with a peak effect at 3 months after injection and, on average, effects lasting for around 6 months.<br\/>PRP injections are useful in the treatment of osteoarthritis.
