It is a type of manual therapy which uses a holistic approach in assessing, diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>Osteopaths use various techniques such as physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues. They may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring. Osteopaths take a holistic approach to treatment taking into consideration biological, psychological and social factors which lead to the presenting complaint.
